‘No NY’ For Robert Pattinson & ‘Water for Elephants’

As first picked up by it seems the movie’s director has confirmed Water For Elephants will not be filming New York. When asked if the movie will be filming in NY, Francis Lawrence replied, “no Ny on this one.”

It was rumored that Water For Elephants, which stars Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon, was going to film scenes at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY this summer, so does this mean Cornell is out?

It seems, the director’s cryptic message still leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Does this mean that the movie isn’t filming in Ithaca or was the answer only referring to NYC? Are they filming only in L.A. or will they still be filming at other locations (there were rumors some filming may be done in NJ)? And we can’t help but wonder, does that Twitter account really belong to the film’s director (it seems the director of the next RPattz movie would have more than 494 followers)?

We’ll keep you posted as more information about the movie’s locations surfaces and hopefully get more answers about where exactly Rob will be filming this sum

Don't Believe The Rumors - 'The Runaways' Nationwide Expansion On April 9th Is Not Cancelled

The Runaways

Despite reports to the contrary, the nationwide release of The Runaways has not been canceled. The erroneous story broke yesterday, which, after all, was April 1st.
A tweet on the Box Office Mojo Twitter account which read "The Runaways lost most of its theaters this weekend, but will be back to around 200 on 4/9. Nationwide expansion canceled," was picked up by numerous fan sites, and taken as gospel truth, breaking the hearts of KStew devotees and Runaways fanatics alike.
However, according to a very reliable source at Apparition, the film's distributor, the tweet is a falsehood. According to the source, that information is a "total rumor. We are all set for the 9th."
If the report was indeed an April Fool's Day prank, then who was responsible? Twitter-hackingTwi-haters? Lita Ford and Jackie Fox?!?
While The Runaways limited release has not generated huge numbers at the box office, word of mouth has been good, as have most of the reviews, especially for the performances of Kristen Stewart as Joan JettDakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, andMichael Shannon's scene-stealing turn as Runaways' producer/manager Kim Fowley.
While the average 15 year old Twilight fan can't buy a ticket to the R-rated film, older Twi-hards have been raving about the movie. The Runaways has resonated with other demographics as well: in Austin, one of the cities in which the film opened on March 19th, a significant percentage of ticket-buyers have been gay (both lesbians and gay men) or musicians (or both). Then again, in Austin, you can't throw a rock without hitting a guitar player...

Busting Michael Mann 'Breaking Dawn' Director Rumors

Since the dawn of time, humans have looked toward the heavens and pondered who would direct Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment of The Twilight Saga.

A new name entered the discussion yesterday, when Michael Mann reportedly expressed interest in the project.

“Having read the source material, there’s a place for digital cinema in these films that has not yet been utilized,” Mann is said to have commented. “I’ve been talking with David [Slade, director of June's Eclipse]… and he feels very close to the story.”

“We’re still in talks with Stephanie (sic) [Meyer], but finishing the Twilight saga right is certainly a goal of mine and David’s.”

Not surprisingly, the direct language Mann supposedly uses (and we’re trying to verify whether he gave these quotes) made many fans believe he’d already accepted the assignment.

However, Gossip Cop can confirm there is still no director for the film, Mann or otherwise.
Gossip Cop spoke with a rep for Summit Entertainment, and we were told that nothing has changed since earlier directorial speculation. There is no finalized script, no production schedule, and no one chosen (yet) to sit behind the camera.

Other outlets will claim to have the inside scoop.

TDG Note: There's no way in HELL Michael Mann would be caught directing Breaking Dawn.  Oh, please...
